Upcoming Fundraisers:
The Bounce House will be hosting Avalon Spirit Night from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The Bounce House, a business with lots of inflatables for kids to play on, will donate 50 percent of proceeds from ticket sales that evening to the nonprofit.
Ma & Pop’s Diner (5242 Olde Towne Road) will donate 15% of breakfast proceeds to Avalon on the first Monday of each month, for diners who come in between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Echoage is an online party-planning website that helps organize a child’s birthday party. The company will let invitees raise money towards the child’s wish list and also for a selected charity at the same time – Avalon is on the list of charities supported by the company. Recent Donations/Volunteers:
King of Glory Lutheran Church held its Bi-Annual Consignment Sale on March 8 and 9, which supported several local nonprofits including Avalon.
Avalon received much needed children’s clothing and toys for the shelter that were donated after the sale. King of Glory also donated gift cards to Avalon families to shop with during the consignment sale; this helps women feel as though they are making independent choices.
Waters Edge Church members volunteered three days last week as part of the church’s Love Week. “Our property and buildings look so much better with the new paint, yard-work, help hauling and organizing donations, and more!” according to Avalon’s Facebook page.
Williamsburg Montessori School recently donated children’s books to kids at Avalon’s shelter, and Soma Intimates donated over 600 bras to the women staying at Avalon.
