YORK COUNTY— Ayden Millette, a Yorktown teenager, has been named one of 15 semifinalists in the competitive racing Kulwicki Driver Development Program.

The program, founded in honor of 1992 NASCAR Cup champion Alan Kulwicki, is considered one of the premier development opportunities for young drivers.

Millette, who has been racing since the age of five, has racked up racing honors in Hampton Roads. He is the 2024 Virginia Racers track champion and the 2025 limited late model track champion at Langley Speedway. He also earned multiple podium finishes last season.

In 2026, Millette plans to run the weekly series at Langley Speedway in a Late Model Stock for his own team along with the CARS Tour race at Langley.

“I would just like thank everyone that’s helped me get to this point in my racing career. An opportunity like this only comes once in a lifetime and it would be an honor to represent the Kulwicki name,” Millette said of the honor.

Five finalists for the program will be chosen following an interview process that includes members of Kulwicki’s 1992 championship crew. Those finalists will compete in a season-long competition and will be judged on race performance, civic involvement, program promotion, fan engagement and how they represent Kulwicki’s legacy.

The Kulwicki Driver Development Program is the only driver development program that pays its participants. Each selected driver receives $7,000 in money, goods and services, along with training in fitness, media presentation, interviews and social media. Drivers must compete in at least 14 races during the season.
