WILLIAMSBURG — With the return of the NFL season comes the return of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” and this season will feature Tribe alum Sean McDermott and his Buffalo Bills.

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills” will feature McDermott, Bills General Manager Brandon Beane, and 2024 MVP Josh Allen as they enter training camp ahead of the 2025 season.

“We are thrilled to provide ‘Hard Knocks’ fans a summer with the Bills and winter with the Cowboys, Giants, Commanders and Eagles in the first year of our exciting new deal with NFL Films. There will be no shortage of star power,” said Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller, Co-Executive Vice Presidents, HBO Documentary & Family Programming, and Bentley Weiner, Senior Vice President, HBO Sports Documentaries.

This appearance marks the first time the Bills have been selected for the program. The show will be a behind-the-scenes look at the Bills, both on and off the field.

McDermott is not the only Tribe alum on the Buffalo Bills coaching staff. He is joined by offensive coordinator Joe Brady, defensive assistant and offensive advisor Christian Taylor, and assistant wide receivers coach DJ Mangas.

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills” will air on Aug. 5 at 9 p.m. on HBO Max. A new episode will air weekly until the season wraps on Sept. 2.

The regular season of “Hard Knocks” will also feature William & Mary ties. “Hard Knocks: In Season with the NFC East” will premiere in December and will showcase the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys during the 2025 NFL regular season.

According to Warner Brothers, the Cowboys’ Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the Giants’ Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers, Jayden Daniels, and Terry McLaurin of the Commanders, and Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley of the Eagles are among the stars to be featured in the series.

The Tribe will be represented in the regular season by Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll, and Philadelphia Eagles passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Christian Parker.
