Cross-Country: Jamestown Girls Sweep Race Against New Kent and Poquoson

The Jamestown girls cross-country team dominated a tri-meet against Poquoson and New Kent at New Kent High School on Wednesday.

Led by Kathleen Yates, who won the girls race with a time of 21:43, the Eagles took the top five spots in the meet to cruise to victory.

Thorin Jean took second place with a time of 22:26, while Gaphne Glueck was third in a time of 22:27. Taylor Stutt placed fourth in a time of 23:00, and Skye Thomas rounded out the top five in a time of 23:01.

As a team, Jamestown finished the boys race in second place with 46 points, which was 19 points behind first-place New Kent.

Jamestown was led by Cameron Coates, who finished sixth in a time of 18:02. Jyrec McCray was eighth with a time of 18:17, and Will Middlebrooks finished ninth in a time of 18:18.

Clarke Agnew was 11th with a time of 18:20, and Daniel Napolitano rounded out the Jamestown scorers in 12th place with a time of 18:30.
