York’s Hanna Angel scored a game-winning goal with 30 seconds left during a dramatic 2-1 win at home against Warhill on Thursday.
The Falcons got on the board first thanks to a Jordyn Keller goal that came off a Courtney Ray assist, putting York up 1-0.
Warhill responded later in the first half when Kayla Cooke found the back of the cage to knot the game up at 1-1 heading into halftime.
Coming out of the break, both teams traded attacking opportunities with neither side able to break through.
Finally, with 30 seconds left in the game, York carried the ball down the right side of the pitch before Keller came up with the ball in the circle. Keller centered the ball and Angel was waiting to put it in for the game-winning goal.
York (4-2) has now won back-to-back games for the second time this season and will look to extend that streak to three games as they host Poquoson on Monday.
Meanwhile, the loss marks Warhill’s first of the season. The Lions (2-1) will try to rebound at home against Smithfield on Monday.

Hampton Roads Academy Takes Down Walsingham
Shea Davis and Sophia Kingsbury each scored a goal and added an assist as the Hampton Roads Academy field hockey team defeated Walsingham Academy on the road Thursday.
The Navigators got on the board thanks to a Sally Gao goal coming off an assist from Davis.
Walsingham responded with a goal from Rachel Clancy, but the Trojans were unable to overcome the HRA goals from Kingsbury and Davis.
The win marks HRA’s first of the season as the Navigators (1-1) will look to continue their winning ways at home against Steward School on Monday.
Walsingham (1-5) is currently in the midst of a five-game losing skid. The Trojans will look to change their fortunes against St. Gertrude’s on the road Friday.

Jamestown’s field hockey team was shut out by Poquoson 6-0 on the road Thursday.
Poquoson took advantage of a struggling Jamestown defense that has allowed six goals for the second consecutive game.
The Eagles, which have lost back-to-back games, and sit at 2-5-1 on the season, will look to rebound on the road at Lafayette on Monday.
