Lorenzo Taliaferro will take some time away from rehabbing his sprained foot to return to his former stomping grounds.
The former Bruton High School football standout, and current National Football League running back will have his jersey retired between Bruton’s junior varsity and varsity basketball games on Feb. 2, Athletic Director Richard Onesty said.

Taliaferro was a fourth-round selection by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2014 NFL Draft. Taliaferro rushed for 292 yards and four touchdowns on 62 attempts during his rookie NFL season before being placed on the injured reserve in December.
