Stephanie Seaman recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 16 steals as Walsingham Academy improved to 2-0 after holding off Steward School 51-39 in the opening round of the Trinity Episcopal tournament Friday.
Seaman, who shot 13-23 from the field, is averaging 25 points in her first two games with the Trojans after transferring from Williamsburg Christian Academy.
Ashley Barnes added 10 points in the win, and Caroline Boyd finished with six points and six rebounds.
Walsingham will play the winner of host Trinity Episcopal and Goochland in Saturday’s tournament final at 5:45 p.m.
WCA Stifles Stonebridge School 61-6
Williamsburg Christian Academy overwhelmed Stonebridge School 61-6 on Friday behind Imani Bryant’s 26 points.
Quazia Jones and Kaylee Boger added 14 points and 13 points, respectively.
The Eagles (2-0, 2-0 Metro Conference) will play Kecoughtan at 3:40 p.m. Saturday in the fourth annual Howard White Showcase.
Leigha Arcand (8 points), Sophie Kingsbury (6 points) and Ronja Voigtlander (2) provided the scoring in Hampton Roads Academy’s 64-16 loss against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Friday.
