Tabb Field Hockey Puts Five on All-4A South Region First Team

Five players from Tabb High’s field hockey team, which finished runner-up in last week’s 4A South Region tournament, have been named to the all-region first team while one other received second-team honors.

The Tigers’ players who received first team distinction were forwards Kara Enoch and Lauren Mitcham, midfielder Melissa Progar and defenders Courtney King and Taylor Omweg. Midfielder Lorissa Morton was voted to the all-region second team.

Additionally, Grafton midfielder Aileen Ahlers and defender Alaina Madeline were named to the all-region second team along with Jamestown midfielder Morgan Maharty.

Lakeland, which defeated Tabb 4-2 in the 4A South Region final last Thursday, swept top honors as Summer Parker was named Player of the Year and Tara Worley was recognized as the region Coach of the Year.

Tabb will play Chancellor in the 4A state tournament quarterfinals at 10 a.m. Friday.
