Lafayette and Jamestown field hockey will move on to the semifinals of their respective conference tournaments after posting opening-round victories Monday night.

Grace Macomber helped keep Lafayette’s season alive after scoring the game-winning goal in the second sudden-death overtime period as No. 5 Lafayette edged No. 4 New Kent, 2-1, on the road Monday. Macomber was credited with both of the Rams’ goals on assists from Jenny Pinkett and Cailin Agnello. Lafayette will play at No. 1 seeded York in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Poquoson 6 Colonial Heights 0
Maggie Chiappazzi scored two goals and added one assist as Poquoson breezed past Colonial Heights 6-0 on Monday. The Islanders will host Warhill in Tuesday’s semifinals at 7:15 p.m. at Poquoson Middle School.

Jessica Cooke scored four goals and Meagan Hounshell tallied two goals and one assist as Warhill breezed past Southampton Monday. The Lions will face No. 3 Poquoson in the semifinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ally Johnson finished with one goal and one assist as Jamestown built a 3-0 halftime lead and added one in the second half for a 4-0 victory at Wanner Stadium. Abby Smith, Emily Robitaille and Logan Haynie also scored for the Eagles, who play at top-seeded Tabb in the semifinals at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
