Williamsburg Christian Academy’s girls basketball team finished off another year of Metro Conference dominance Saturday by defeating Portsmouth Christian 94-41 in the tournament championship.
The victory marked WCA’s fourth conference tournament championship in a row as the Eagles are now an astonishing 72-0 against conference opponents over the past four seasons. WCA finished 19-0 against conference teams this season without ever winning a game by less than double digits.
Junior standout Keyana Brown scored a game-high 24 points in the win to earn conference Player of the Year honors for the third straight year. Brown was joined on the all-tournament first team by teammates Jalynn Ponzo, Tonika Pierce, Tiara Strong and Stephanie Seaman.
WCA, which captured its first-ever state championship in Division 3 last season, will embark on a Division 2 state title run next week beginning with the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
