Grafton High’s girls and boys basketball teams earned high praise for their 18-0 regular seasons in the Bay Rivers on Monday when the all-district teams were announced for both genders.
Grafton’s girls placed three players on the all-district first team, including Player of the Year Olivia Wilson, while boys star forward Elijah Moore was named the district’s best boys player for the second-straight year.
Wilson led the district in scoring (20.5) and rebounds (8.5) this season while Moore’s 21 points and 9 rebounds were the best combined statistics in the district, although Tabb’s Kaleb Mitchell, who joined Moore on the all-district first team, led the district in scoring at 22 ppg.
Four other Clippers – guards Hannah Olson and Emily Beyer on the girls’ side and point guard Tyler McMillan on the boys’ – earned first-team honors.
Grafton’s Tommy Bayse (girls) and Jeremy Jordan (boys) also repeated as Coaches of the Year for consecutive seasons.
