Ashley Barnes’ fourth 3-point bucket of the game came at the buzzer to lift Walsingham Academy’s girls basketball team past TCIS foe Bishop Sullivan, 43-40, Tuesday night on the road.
Barnes led the Trojans (7-1) with a game-high 18 points while Charnissa Chillers, who assisted Barnes on the game’s final play, chipped in with 17.

Walsingham’s boys also won in impressive fashion Tuesday night, defeating host Tabb High of the Bay Rivers District 65-43.
The frontcourt tandem of Charles Blaha (17 points) and Braden Sutton (16 points) led a balanced scoring attack for the Trojans (13-1), who also got 10 points from Brandon LaRose and eight from Billy Barnes.
After falling behind 17-11 in the opening quarter, Walsingham outscored the host Tigers 54-26 the rest of the way. Daniel Schiele (13 points) and Kaleb Mitchell (11 points) led Tabb in scoring.
