Tabb’s Field Hockey team defeated arch-rival Grafton 5-0 in the championship game of the Bay Rivers District tournament Thursday night.
It was the Tigers’ fourth tournament title in five years.
Tabb’s goals were scored by Ali Harmatz (2), Lauren Mitcham (2) and Maddie Landers.
Tabb (19-0), the four-time defending state champs, enters next week’s Region I tournament as the top seed. The Tigers will have home-field advantage throughout the tournament.
Grafton – who lost to Tabb in last year’s state championship game – also moves on to regionals as the Bay Rivers #3 seed. The Clippers will travel in the opening round and could potentially earn themselves a rematch with the Tigers in the second round.
