Former Jamestown High cross country standout Andrew Colley, now a junior at N.C. State, has been featured by the NCAA as one of the top returning cross country runners to watch this season.
Colley, who has run both indoor and outdoor track as well as cross country for the Wolfpack, earned All-America honors (XC) last fall following a 15th place finish in the NCAA Championship with a time of 29:40.0.
His high school coach, Howard Townsend, believes Colley has the potential this season to be one of the top five runners in the nation should he stay healthy.
At Jamestown, in addition to being a multi-year all-state track runner, Colley also helped lead the Eagles to a state title his senior year while shattering both the meet and course records after blistering the course in 15.02.24.
