Stanley Brent Romanick, 84, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Newport News, he was a lifelong Peninsula resident. He was a graduate of Warwick High School where he met and married his lifelong sweetheart. Brent retired in 2020 from an over 30-year career in the automotive wholesale business, which followed many years working as a pawn broker. Romanick was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Chesapeake Military Society, James River Camera Club, and SCV Magruder-Ewell Camp #99.
He had a passion for sports/vintage cars, history, military miniatures, photography and spending time with his family. Brent was an avid reader who had a deep knowledge and interest for military history. In his retirement, you could find him in his recliner watching classic westerns and early cinema.
He was preceded in death by his parents, MSGT Stanley Romanick and Elizabeth Sheppard. He is survived by his wife, Alice Dolores Romanick; his son, Anthony Colin Romanick (Lorane Romanick) of Williamsburg; his daughter, Alexis Romanick Reece of Hampton; and his two grandchildren, Colten Reece of Knoxville, TN and Haley Reece of Hampton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
