Sherrill Lee Calcote-Lee, born on August 22, 1943, in Babylon, Long Island, New York, passed peacefully on April 5, 2026, going home to be with the Lord.
Sherrill was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, George Philip Lee.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Jeffrey Calcote, Sr. (Angelina); her stepson, George Lee Jr. (Shauna); and her stepdaughter, Jacqueline Lee. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Jeffrey Calcote, Jr. (Chakarian), Jasmin Calcote, Sydney Lee, Justin Lee, and Aaron Lee.
She is also survived by her brothers, Anthony Calcote (Theresa) and Christopher Bunn, and her sister, Linda Bunn, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Sherrill was preceded in death by her parents, Hallett Bunn and Winifred Bunn; her brothers, Kenneth Calcote and Hallett “Carl” Bunn; and her sisters, Helen Bunn, Nancy Petty, and Stephanie Bunn.
Throughout her life, Sherrill found joy in the simple pleasures of traveling, reading, especially her cook books and playing Mahjong. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and her dog Zachary, who brought immense happiness to her life. She was a woman of integrity and generosity, dedicating her time to volunteering in a hospital gift shop and working with a newcomers group, helping others learn to read.
Sherrill had a successful career, working for over 30 years at Harris PRD Corporation, where she served as a Purchasing Supervisor, she also supervised the purchasing of the parts for the B-1 Bomber and received a medal from the United States Air Force, Her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew her professionally.
She shared special bonds with many dear friends, including Rosemarie Dearing, Jackie Watkins, and Cynthia Wood, who held a cherished place in her heart.
Sherrill will be remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
