It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Gary Dale Slusher, on February 21, 2026, at the age of 65.
Gary was born in Dayton, Ohio. In 1982, he moved to Newport News, VA and met the love of his life, Sandra Collins Slusher. After three years of dating, the two were married on April 6, 1985, and remained inseparable until his death.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sandra; two children, Casey Marie Sanchez and Misty Dawn Cash; his sons-in-laws, Jeremy M. Sanchez and Dalton Cash; his grandson, Noland Sanchez; his sister, Debbie Slusher-Stevenson; his brother, Junior “JR” Slusher; his sister in law, Lisa Collins; his brother in law, Tony Collins; his nieces, Laken Collins and Emily Bright and his nephews, Skye Collins, Tony “Dale” Collins, Billy Stevenson and Josh Stevenson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Hampton Friends Church, 1062 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA 23666.
