Anita Reynolds, 92, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Williamsburg, VA at Commonwealth Senior Living.
Anita was born Anita Belle Bagley on January 9, 1933 in Suffolk, VA to Thomas John Bagley and Gladys Mabel Nelms. She married Bernard Preston Cook on June 8, 1952 at the Main Street Methodist Church in Suffolk, VA. Preston pre-deceased her in 1982. The couple had three children: Susan Cook Shores (Steve) of Hickory, NC, Kevin Preston Cook (Phyllis) of Wilmington, NC and Carolyn Cook Spalding (Sam) of Williamsburg, VA. She had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Anita was a homemaker who lived much of her adult life in North Carolina before moving to New York in 2008. Late in life, she returned to her beloved Virginia. She was very talented in many forms of needlework, and a keen Bridge player. She helped develop and edit the cookbook Collard Greens, Watermelons and “Miss” Charlotte’s Pie, first published by the Swansboro United Methodist Women in 1993.
There will be no calling hours but donations to Meals on Wheels of Eastern Onondaga County are welcome.
