Melvin Louis Bazemore, 65, of Norfolk

Melvin Louis Bazemore, a beloved husband and cherished friend to many, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 65.

Born on December 20, 1959, Melvin was known for his generous spirit and kind heart, traits that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Melvin served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped much of his life and character. After his time in the service, he dedicated many years of hard work as a pipefitter at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. His dedication and commitment were evident in everything he did, both professionally and personally.

In his leisure time, Melvin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found shooting pool with friends, watching movies, or indulging his love for Westerns and WWE wrestling. Those who knew him well relished his quiet humor and quick wit; he had a talent for making others smile and feel at ease, always ready with a joke or a kind word.

Melvin’s love extended beyond human connections; he had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dear cat, Jay, who was a constant companion and brought him much joy.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Yvette Bazemore, who was his steadfast partner and confidante.
