Cindy Watson Meehan (Weymouth Funeral Home & Crematory)

Cindy Watson Meehan, 67, of Newport News, VA, passed away in a tragic accident on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at a family home in Clearwater, FL. Cindy spent her life spreading joy, beauty, and compassion to everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, loved, and valued — a gift she shared freely and often.

Cindy Kay was born in Fort Walton Beach, FL to SMSgt. Laurie and Evelyn Watson. With her father being an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force, she grew up in several places around the world. Her favorite was Puerto Rico, where she discovered her love of collecting sea glass. The family moved to the Peninsula upon Laurie’s transfer to Langley Field in the late 1960s and Cindy is a graduate of Tabb High School. An artist in every sense, Cindy found joy in shaping the world around her — whether through her gentle hands molding clay, her eyes seeking treasures in the form of sea glass along the shore, or her generous heart performing quiet, random acts of kindness. She loved her garden, where she nurtured life and beauty, just as she did in every relationship she cultivated.

Cindy lived with a spirit that was both grounded and free. She was humble, spiritual, and full of light — a woman who laughed easily, loved fiercely, and always made room for others in her heart and in her life. She found profound purpose and happiness in being a mom, a role she cherished above all. Those who knew her will remember her as a radiant and beautiful presence in the world — inside and out — whose creativity, warmth, and loving nature left a lasting imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Meehan of Newport News; son, T. West Meehan, Jr. (Megan); daughter, Katelyn Meehan (Oliver Swaby); brothers, Darren (Lori), Mitch (Connie), Michael (Vanessa), Larry (Jodie) Watson, and sister, Vicki (Ricki) Rogers, along with a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Laurie G. and Evelyn Watson. Her legacy of love, laughter, and light lives on in her family, in the art she created, and in the many lives she touched.
She will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever.
