On June 25, 2025 the Lord’s darling, Thelma Inez Crump Mihalcoe, 88, entered Heaven’s gates peacefully.
She was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Crump Wilson, father, Grosjean Graves Crump Sr., sister Jeanne Crump, brothers Dusty Crump (Nellie), and Drexel Crump (Ellen).
Inez is survived by her brothers Aldon Crump (Ruth) and Bobby Wilson (Sherry). Inez is also survived by her four children, Kimberly Griffith, Kelly Mihalcoe, Krista Spivey (Mike), and her favorite son Chuck Mihalcoe (Wendy), 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, good friend Barbara Hardy, best friend of 70 years Barbara Wilder, and her sweet dog Casey.
Inez truly had a servants heart and love for her family and friends. Serving the community, she was a founder of Miss Softball America, founding member of the Lafayette Educational Scholarship Fund, served as president of the Women’s Pilot Club, president of numerous PTA’s, helped establish Housing Partnerships, and Lifeline Emergency Alert System. Later in life Inez provided the Lord’s care to the elderly as a CNA in nursing facilities.
Inez graduated from New Kent High School in 1955 and attended Longwood College. She married Charles H. Mihalcoe and moved to Northern Virginia where she worked in the Main Navy Department as a secretary for John Warner. Inez and her husband also owned and operated several Pizza Shops and once they moved to Williamsburg started Olde Towne Pizza in the early 70s. Inez was also a realtor with Century 21. Being adventurous she also earned her pilots license and recreationally flew.
Inez was a mother to many that were in need throughout the community and will be greatly missed. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m.-11a.m. with Services at 11 a.m.
on July 3, 2025 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140, followed by graveside at New Kent Chapel, 13100 Cooks Mill Rd, Lanexa, VA 23089.
