Robert Glynn Nobles, 90, also known to his friends and family as “Chick”, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Robert was a resident of Newport News for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, until being honorably discharged in 1963. He retired from his job at Newport News Shipbuilding in 2000.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, David Sr. and Minnie Nobles; his wife, Eleanor Jean Nobles; his two brothers, David Nobles and Billy Nobles and his children, Beverly Joy Hudgins and Stewart Todd Nobles. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two children, Monica Pate and Patrick Scott Nobles; son-in-law, James S. Hudgins Jr. (Joy); grandchildren, James S. Hudgins III, Amanda Guirkins (Shad), Eric Hudgins and Sean Pate; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
