Barbara Ann Haynes, age 89, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025.
She was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on June 26, 1935 and was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irma Asche; and her two sisters, Lois A. Rush and Elizabeth “Betty” Douglas.
She received a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in nursing, working in various hospitals in the Pittsburgh and Chicago area. Barbara also earned a PHD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
Barbara was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir. She loved golf and walking her dog, Chip.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Haynes; brother, Charles Asche (Nancy); various nieces and nephews; two best friends, Nancy Roderick of Pennsylvania and Claudette Ross of Colorado; and her dog, Chip.
A service will take place at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barbara’s memory to Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
