Robert Christopher was a husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He left this world on April 2, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born to the late Robert and Alice Christopher on June 13, 1939 in Bowling Green, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Olga Christopher.
He retired from the Army after 23 years. During his years of service, he received several awards and commendations to include National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star and Presidential Unit Citation, just to name a few. He loved God and enjoyed serving the Lord in any way he could. He was known by his wife as “HONEY” to which he would respond as “HUH”. He was known to his kids and grandkids as “Papa Smurf”.
He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Robert III (wife Christie), Carmen, Michael (wife Melissa), and Tiffany (husband Marshall); his three sisters Jean, Anita (Beannie), Joyce (husband Ernest), and one brother Wallace (wife Patricia); grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am on April 14, 2025 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
