It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Melissa Williams Sweat, of New Kent, VA, on the 12th of February, at the age of 64 years old.
Melissa will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Rusty; her children, Shane (Katey) and Lacey (Vinny); three beautiful grandchildren who were the light of her life, Mattie, Evalyn, and Callen; and numerous beloved family members and friends.
Melissa was a fiercely devoted Christian and held an unwavering faith in God. Many who knew Melissa, knew of the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Always one to extend a helping hand, she filled her days by helping all of those around her.
Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vera Williams; and her in-laws, Homer and Ann Sweat.
The family will receive friends to celebrate Melissa’s life from 5 PM to 7 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial Donations may be made in Melissa’s name to UNC Children’s Excellence Fund or UNC Children’s Research Institute at Donate to UNC.
