Ms. Kayla was born on August 15, 1998 and passed away, surrounded by her family, on July 19, 2024.
Kayla was a New Kent native and graduate of the NK class of 2020. She loved The Wiggles, classic rock music, wind chimes, scarves, and spending time with her family. To know Kayla was to love her. Her smile would light up the room. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kayla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Patsy Reynolds of New Kent and Benjamin T. Riggins of Dandy, as well as Mary F. Clayberger and Edward Clayberger ll, both of Newport News; aunts, Lou Ann Hall (James), Lynn Dudley and Trish Reynolds, all of Williamsburg; uncle, Stephen LaFontaine of West Point; and her beloved dog, Queeny.
Kayla is survived by those left to cherish her memories including her mom and dad, Terry and Eddie Clayberger; aunt, Patricia Lafontaine of New Kent; cousins, Ronnie (Chrissy) of Northern Shore, Vanessa Nash (Dave) of Gloucester, Maya Miller (Tommy) of Lanexa, Teralynn Lewis (Marcus) of Jacksonville, FL, Roady Reynolds (Jinelle) of Hampton, Eddie Riggins of Dandy, and Karen Lafontaine (Danny) of Williamsburg. Kayla is also survived by three 2nd cousins with whom she was especially close, Michael and Shane McCracken of New Kent, and Morgan Wymer of Gloucester; and numerous 3rd cousins, Cassie, Lilith, Lucy, and Wyatt Reynolds of Hampton, and Gavin, Cassie, Penelope and Malcom Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida; a special “Second Mom”, Penny of West Point; her dear teacher, Shannon Bennett of New Kent; and countless other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, July 27 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., just prior to the funeral service.
