Merle W. Buckless passed away quietly on May 7, 2024 in the comfort of family and friends. He was 93.
Born and raised in Barrington, Rhode Island he loved private aviation and flew small planes while still in his teens.
Following service in the Air Force he worked for Western Union in Oklahoma and Colorado prior to settling in Sterling, Virginia, where he resided for the remaining 50 years of his life.
He was preceded in death by wife Patricia and son David.
He is survived by son Donald (Patricia) daughter in-law Valerie, and grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew.
An avid scouter and Master Mason, his contributions of time to youth organizations is remembered and appreciated by many. He was a wonderful husband. Father, and friend. He will be missed by all.
