Anthony “Tony” Gerard Vasko, 66, of Hampton unexpectedly passed away on June 24, 2023. He had multiple health challenges but remained upbeat and enthusiastic about life.
He was a loving, caring brother and a good friend to many. He graduated from Granby High School in 1975, where he was a standout on their Varsity football team. He then worked for the Newport News Shipyard until he retired in 2021. He enjoyed camping and the simple things in life like a home-cooked meal and great television.
He is predeceased by his father Michael J. Vasko, Sr. and his mother Mary E. Vasko. He leaves behind five siblings, Michael Vasko, Jr., Stanley Vasko, Thomas Vasko (Christy Straddeck), Barbara Vasko, Theresa Parten (husband Paul Parten) and countless friends.
A Catholic Mass and Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
