Virginia Ann Groff, age 89, of Gloucester Point, VA, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, George G. Groff and sister, Theresa Ellison.
In her younger days, Virginia worked with several organizations to provide for the community, including Meals-on-Wheels and Hands Across Mathews, to name a few. She was previously a member of the Church of Francis De Sales in Mathews, VA, and was a current member of the Church of St. Therese in Gloucester Courthouse, VA.
Virginia is survived by her children, Linda Osenton (Denny L. Osenton Jr.), and Julia Schumann (Thomas Schumann); sister, Mary Bohenek; grandchildren, Kimberly Cortes (Philip), Carolyn Haydon (Travis), Kelly Stubbs (fiancé, John Dedmon), Zachary Reynolds, Denny L. Osenton III (Meghan), Catherine Osenton, and Robert Osenton; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Church of St. Therese, 6262 Main St, Gloucester, VA 23061. A reception at the church will follow the service.
