Helen K. Adams, 93 of Quinton, VA., went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Percy Melvin Adams, Sr., her son, Percy Melvin Adams, Jr., a grandson, Percy Melvin Adams, III, and son-in-law, William Leroy Grubbs Sr., and sister, Laura Stickel. She is survived by her daughters, Gaynelle Grubbs and Glenda Douglas (Kenny). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Jody(Julie), Jason(Sara), Leroy Jr.(Amy), Michael(Tricia), Thomas(Helen), Darlene(David), Sherry(Paul), Kenny Jr.(Elisa), and Kristy(Matt), 25 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, brother Raymond Southard , devoted niece Cheryl Rae Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews. When the need for love and care was needed, she opened her home to many other children and adults, simply said, there were no strangers in her life. Helen attended Emmaus Baptist Church for many years. She drove a school bus for New Kent County Public Schools for 35 years, and was an avid gardener. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Providence Forge Chapel of Vincent Funeral Home 9923 Pocahontas Trail Providence Forge, VA 23140. Funeral services will be held 11:30 am, Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Emmaus Baptist Church 6700 Emmaus Church Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
