Dolly Jean Storms, 89, of Norfolk

Dolly Jean Storms, 89, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Manley Storms and Almeda Guyton Storms, as well as her brothers, Oscar Lee Storms, James Paul Storms, Newton Storms, Dewey Edward Storms, and Jimsey Storms. Dolly is survived by her siblings, David Storms (Betty) of Suffolk, Virginia; Mary Elizabeth Spears (Ronald) of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida; Eva Rae Williams (Johnnie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and Jerry Storms (Martha) of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Dolly was born in Bladenboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Tar Heel High School and went to work as an Administrative Assistant for the FBI in Washington DC. This opened more professional opportunities for her to support the U.S. Army as a civilian, including at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Monroe, Virginia and Yongsan Garrison, Korea under the U.S. Army Material Command.  Dolly’s passion was being involved with Bible study fellowship and Stonecroft Ministries, where she held offices in the local chapter for many years. She taught countless hours of Sunday School to sixth graders at Ocean View Baptist Church in Norfolk where she was a member.  She was an avid bowler as well as someone who loved to travel, visiting most of Europe, Ecuador, Israel, Korea, and the Caribbean.

Dolly’s family was the center of her life. She was loving, thoughtful and giving with her parents, siblings, their families, as well as friends and neighbors. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her four siblings, their spouses, and her many, many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grandnieces.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Peninsula Memorial Park by Rev. Mark H. Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medi Home Hospice, Chesapeake, VA. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
