Twyla Crouch Otto, 79

WEST POINT — Twyla Crouch Otto, age 79, passed away at home at 5:10 pm on April 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Maude Crouch, her son, Leonard Christopher Otto and her sister, Charlotte Otto.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard R Otto; her two daughters, Sharon Goins (Larry) and Marcey Morris (Billy); her grandchildren, Melanie Goins, Jonas Goins (Ches), Kelsey Ramsey (Michael), Jonathan Otto, Andrew Morris (Taylor) and Elizabeth Morris; and her great-grandchildren, Emma Otto, Kathryn Goins and Abigail Ramsey.

Twyla was a homemaker with a lot of “spunk & spirit” raising three children. Prior to her children being born, she worked for her aunt, Hattie Wallace, at DMV for a time and selling Avon products.

The family enjoyed summer camping trips to all sorts of historical places starting off sleeping in a tent with cots and then graduating to a pop-up. One of her favorite trips was to see the Statler Brothers in concert on the 4th of July in Staunton with family and friends. She and Leonard also had great fun going on bus trips to different places.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10 – 11:30 am at Vincent Funeral Home in West Point with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 am. A private burial will take place at a later time.
