
CHARLES CITY — Robert Perry “Scootie” Whitehead Jr., 57, of Charles City, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brittney Laine Whitehead and parents, Robert P. Whitehead Sr. and Princetta Whitehead.
Scootie retired from Kraft Nabisco Bakery in 2016 after 32 years of service. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoying games and friends in his Steelers man cave. He also enjoyed fishing, restoring classic cars, coaching youth sports, and spending time with family. Scootie lived his life to the fullest, leaving an abundance of memories, laughter, and love.
Our beloved Scootie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shelly, son Robert “Wu” Whitehead III, sisters Valerie and Princess Whitehead, Marcia Brown, Varnee Quarles, Vanita Vaughan (George). Goddaughters Chloe Isabella Ross, Eryn Laine Preston, son at heart Tyrone Lowe, brothers at heart Alan Charity and Johnnie Payne. Mother/Father-in-law Don and Jackie Adkins, Sister/Brother-in-law Pam and Al Ross; Special Aunt Mary Crewe and a host of special nieces and nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 Monday, March 7, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge VA 23140. Burial to follow at Gilfield Baptist Church, 6640 Church Lane, Charles City, VA 23030. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service.
