
Rodelio E. Legaspi, 77, of Virginia Beach, went home with the Lord peacefully Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born June 11, 1941, in Santa Isabel, Kawit, Cavite, Philippines. Rodelio was a U.S. States Army veteran (SFC) and served with honorable service for 20 years. He was an avid member of Kawit Families of Tidewater. He loved gardening, karaoke and watching wrestling.
Rodelio was preceded in death by his parents, Silvestre S. Legaspi and Preciosa E. Legaspi. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Royce, and future daughter-in-law, Cindy, of San Jose, California, and daughter, Rosadel, of Washington, D.C. Loving him deeply and caring for him through his long illness is his former wife, Rosalie. He is also survived by his brother, Ray (wife, Leonida) of Virginia Beach; sisters, Zenaida and Lumin Legaspi, Ligaya Dalipe (husband, Rafael), all of Norfolk; Flordeliza Baja and Ofelia Cate (husband, Oscar) from the Philippines; and various nephews, nieces, and cousins of Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Northern Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, and Thursday, Sept. 20, with a wake service at 7 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 21, at Church of the Ascension, Virginia Beach. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
