Marciana Salazar Torres, 79, dedicated barangay captain who loved politics.

Marciana Salazar Torres, 79, of Virginia Beach, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018.

Born in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Eusebio and Felicidad Salazar. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rodolfo Salazar. She was a dedicated barangay captain during her tenure in the Philippines and loved politics. She was also a dedicated mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Rolando S. Torres Jr., and his wife, Priscilla, Ronaldo S. Torres, and his wife, Julita, and Richard S. Torres, and his wife, Maria Louisa; daughter, Rizalinda T. Cabrera, and her husband, Abet; grandchildren, Kristine (P.J.), Christian, Krystal, Abigail, Tonton, Jo Marie, Jerick and Julius; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Yolanda Abutan.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at the funeral home chapel.
