Mae S. Yelton, 95, of Virginia Beach, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alzie Stewart; brothers and sisters; and her beloved husband, Ralph.

She is survived by her children, Diane, Terri and Charles, their spouses, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II at the Norfolk Naval Base, and she was a charter member of Bayside Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, 1457 Independence Blvd., Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mae Yelton’s name to Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455; or the Alzheimer’s Association Southeastern Virginia, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA.
