Thaddeaus M. Hawkins, 90, of Virginia Beach, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018.
Born in Cedar Grove, N.C., he was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired as a food broker from Swift & Company. Thad was an avid golfer and member of Suburban Christian Church of Virginia Beach.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty W. Hawkins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maybelle Conboy-Hawkins; two daughters, Lu Donahue, and her husband, John, and Amy Waldrop, and her fiancé, Vernon White; three grandchildren, Devon and Shawn Donahue and Danielle Waldrop; niece, Susan Rimmer; nephew, Keith Hawkins; and stepsons, Mark, Steve, Thomas and Richard Conboy and their families.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, followed by funeral service at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hurdle Mills, N.C.
