Herman Langston Williams, 81, his wonderful sense of humor ignited smiles and laughter

Herman Langston Williams, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017. He passed peacefully at his home in Virginia Beach, with his daughter and her fiancé by his side.

Herman, the youngest of 10 children, served the country he loved for over 20 years and was a veteran of the U.S. States Army. He was a loving, supportive family man and a loyal friend to many. His wonderful sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus Williams and Ethel (Knox) Williams; wife, Peggy A. Ellis-Williams; as well as several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Alexis Albritton; two sisters, Annie V. Wiggins and Bertha Smith-Elliot; three stepchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Herman will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
