Helen C. Truckner, 95, of Virginia Beach, departed this life Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.
Born in Lynn, Mass., she met the love of her life, William P. Truckner, in 1947 while they were both serving in the U.S. Navy. They spent 54 wonderful years together until his passing in 2002. A devout Christian, Helen was a longtime member of Haygood United Methodist Church. She loved her family and church and will be missed by many.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce Truckner (Dee); daughter, Suzanne Charlton (Greg); four grandchildren, Christopher (Tasha), Christina (Barry), Eric and Lexa; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Peyton and Lily.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Haygood United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or your local animal rescue.
