
Arthur Frank Goodwin, 95, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018. He was born Sept. 28, 1922, to the late Felix and Lucille Goodwin in Lawrence, Kansas. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta S. Goodwin.
Arthur served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a chief warrant officer 3, serving over 20 years. He also served 26 years in civil service. He was a dedicated member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 40 years. He served as post commander of the Local VFW 392 from 1991 to 92 and was a lifetime member.
He is survived by his niece, Jeanette Smith (Alvin); nephew, Glen Spence (Shelley); special sister-in-law, Hortense Spence; special best friends, James Copeland and Paul (Deborah); godson, Claude Baxter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, at First Lynnhaven Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
