Maebelle Lowery, 90, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017. She was born April 21, 1927, to the late Plummer and Nolar Hunt in Lumberton, N.C.
Maebelle was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and the Christian Women’s Club.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Melton Lowery; sons, Anthony Lowery, and his wife, Maggie, and Buren Lowery, and his wife, Kathline; brothers, James Hunt and Junior Hunt; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Annette, Jessica and Katherine.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross to help support families impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
