
Marilyn Carolina Jackson, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, June 30, 2017.
Mrs. Jackson was born in New York City and resided in Virginia Beach since 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson was a founding member of Providence Presbyterian Church. She retired as a schoolteacher with Virginia Beach Public Schools teaching at Courthouse Elementary and Kellam High School and volunteered at the Virginia Beach City Jail assisting inmates in receiving their GEDs.
Survivors include two sons, William George Jackson, and his wife, Theresa, and Thomas B. Jackson; three grandchildren, Laura K. Jackson, Mark W. Jackson and Steven J. Jackson.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, where a celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
