Joey P. Santos, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2016, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Manila, Philippines, he was the eldest son of the late Julian and Isabel Santos.

He retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief petty officer with 26 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a past master of Owens Lodge No. 164 and the past vice president of the Pampango Language Club. He was a member of the Hiram Club of Tidewater, Victory Daylight Lodge No. 1778, Buhay Lodge in the Philippines, The Knights of Rizal, the Scooter Patrol of the Shriners of Virginia and the Maynilad Lodge of Washington, D.C.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Natividad Santos; children, Arnold, Jenny and Ryan; son-in-law, Ernest; five grandchildren, E.J., Jezelle, Ernie, Jazmine and Max; eight siblings, Fely, Bong, Jessie, Rita, Nonette, Menchie, Len and Dorie; and 11 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 6, with a wake service at 7 p.m. and from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
