Chester A. Hatstat Sr., 89, retired as co-owner of C&P Glass Company

Chester A. Hatstat Sr., 89, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at his home. Born in Rutland, Mass., he was the son of the late Charles and Grace Hatstat. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Angelo Hatstat.

He retired as a senior chief petty officer from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service; he was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired as co-owner of C&P Glass Company. He was a member of Bayview United Church of Christ and Fleet Reserve Branch 99.

Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Chester A. Hatstat Jr. (Nan) of Alexandria, James A. Hatstat (Susan) of Virginia Beach and Peter M. Hatstat (Nina) of Chesapeake; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Rosewood Memorial Park with full military honors.
