Mr. John ‘Buddy’ Johnson Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Scottish Rite Masons. Buddy worked for Snow Jr. and King Masonry for 40 years as a master brick mason. He was a wonderful father, husband and ‘Pop Pop’ and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Dickie and Raymond; and sister, Helen
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy L. Johnson; sons, John Norman Johnson III, Jeffrey W. Johnson Sr. and Mark J. Johnson; daughter, Nancy R. Garton; brothers, Gary and Russell; sisters, Katie and Ruthie; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Jay, Chris, Kyle, Joey, Russell, Ryan, Brittany and Trevor; and eight great-grandsons.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
