Lucy Alma Jackson, 85, died Thursday, April 7, 2016. She was born March 23, 1931, the daughter of Herman and Theresa Gross.
She retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department and enjoyed her bridge games and spending time with family and friends.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and adored by all she met.
Born in the Bronx, Lucy became a U.S. Navy wife and Virginia Beach ultimately became her home with her her six children, Allison Jackson (Tom Higgins), Kenneth Jackson, Chris Jackson, Bruce Jackson (Bonnie Jackson), Jill Jackson Franklin and Debbie Jackson (Mike Hall). She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and four great-grandkids.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Carrow Baptist Church, 5545 Susquehanna Drive. A viewing will take place from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
