A 15-year-old girl reported to police she was raped by an unidentified man Aug. 6 as she walked on a trail running through the woods from Pocahontas Trail to Country Village Mobile Home Park in Grove.
The incident happened around midnight, said Deputy Chief Stephen Rubino of the James City County Police Department. The unidentified attacker was described as a 6-foot-2 black male with a dark complexion wearing navy blue sweatpants and a red and black sweatshirt.
The trail runs from Pocahontas Trail to Gray Gables Drive, a road encircling much of the mobile home park.
