WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg’s Two Rivers Country Club (TRCC) is hosting its 12th Annual Two Rivers Senior Invitational on Oct. 16-18.
The 54-hole medal play event is comprised of three divisions: Seniors (ages 50-64); Super Seniors (ages 65-69) and Legends (ages 70 and over).
A full field of top senior amateurs from 13 different states will be competing — an invite-only field limited to 72 contestants with an established handicap index of 6.0 or less as selected by the Two Rivers Senior Invitational Committee based on WAGR and VSGA rankings, according to a press release.
“It’s an honor for our club and a testimony to the beauty and quality of our course that we have such an elite list of 72 players this year,” said Chris Warring, Two Rivers’ PGA Golf Professional. “Our course layout, spectacular course conditions, and the warm hospitality of the Two Rivers members and staff are the reasons this event has become so popular.”
Notable players will include Jon Hurst, ranked No. 1 in Virginia, and Sherrill Britt from West End, North Carolina, ranked No. 24 nationally. Top Super Senior participants include John Steele and Harry Thomas, ranked No. 3 and No. 8 in Virginia, as well as Don Donatoni from West Chester, ranked No. 2 in Pennsylvania.
