JAMES CITY COUNTY — Through state funding, James City County (JCC) is able to offer financial relief to qualifying small businesses that have been negatively affected by COVID-19.
JCC has announced the creation of the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Fund, a grant program made possible through Community Development Block Grant funding from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
JCC said that a total of $700,000 was received from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
The fund is a reimbursement grant that allows qualifying businesses to apply to be reimbursed for rent or mortgage payments, and in some cases utility payments.
The businesses must consist of 20 full-time equivalent employees or less.
Grant requests are limited to a maximum of six consecutive months of payments, not exceeding a total grant request of $15,000.
Eligible expenses must have been for March 13, 2020 through June 30, 2022.
Grant funds are for reimbursement only. Documentation must be provided to confirm that payments were made.
Grant applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Only complete applications will be considered.
