NEWPORT NEWS — Silly, the Virginia Living Museum’s male gray fox, has died.

He was “at least 12 years old,” according to the museum.

“It is with an extremely heavy heart that we must share the passing of the Virginia Living Museum’s male gray fox,” the museum wrote on their Facebook page.

According to the museum’s website, Silly was orphaned and lived in the wild before the museum acquired him from a zoo in 2009. He spent the remainder of his life in the museum’s outdoor habitat until he was diagnosed with pneumonia on Jan. 24 and died three days later.
